For my portraits, I decided to look at various styles of contemporary portraiture for ideas. This led me to come across the photographer Michael Itkoff. Part of his portfolio includes the idea of street portraits, using a white board behind the subject's profile to focus the attention on the face. This triggered the idea to use this, and here is my response. When taking the pictures, I felt a sense of Rineke Dijkstra influence, pausing slightly longer before taking the image; trying to create a sense of awkwardness to reveal the true portrait of the subject.
